Battle Chess is a browser game. You can play it without an account, and we keep as little data as the game needs to work.
Who runs this site
Ores GmbH, Industriestrasse 13a, 6300 Zug, Switzerland. Contact: hello@battlechess.games.
What the game stores on your device
- Your seat in an online room. When you create or join a room, the browser keeps the room code and a random seat key in local storage so a refresh brings you back into the same game. Nothing else about you is stored. Leaving the room or clearing site data removes it.
- Offline copy of the game. If you install Battle Chess or your browser supports it, a service worker keeps a copy of the game page and icons so local play works without a connection.
What our server processes
- Online rooms. Room state (armies, moves, results) lives in the server's memory for the duration of the game and is deleted after two hours without moves, or 24 hours at the latest. It is never written to a database.
- Server logs. Like almost every web server, ours records the IP address, requested page, time and browser type of each request for security and troubleshooting. Logs are kept for a short period and are not combined with other data.
Advertising
Battle Chess is free and funded by ads. We use Google AdSense, and when available Google's rewarded video ads after a game. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to show ads based on your visit to this and other sites and to measure them. You can control personalised advertising in your Google account at adssettings.google.com, and read how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown; you can change that choice at any time from the consent message.
Fonts
The title typeface is loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser requests it from Google's servers, which see your IP address. Google states it does not use these requests for tracking.
Children
The game is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from players. Ads shown to visitors identified as under the age of consent are not personalised.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where it applies, the GDPR, you can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its processing. Since we hold no account data, this will usually concern server logs. Write to the contact address above.
